Toledo winds
I'm very grateful to have caught the fish that I caught last week and to have gotten the 5th place finish that I had at Pickwick and to have retained the lead in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year race. Read More

West Point will be different
We’re at the midway point of the Elite season, and I’m currently leading the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year race. That essentially puts a target on my back. Read More

Practice makes perfect!
I'm here on the Harris Chain in Florida today for the first day of practice of the Elite Series season. I've been idling and trolling around quite a bit trying to put the finishing touches on my game plan. Read More

Alton's Angle: St. Johns delivers!
There is always disappointment when you're leading a tournament and then don't win, but especially when you lead the whole thing and fall to third. Read More

Ready to roll
At the end of last week, I did a little prefishing on West Point Lake in Georgia. Before then, I had never laid eyes on that lake. So, I did a lot of riding around and a lot of looking as well as a little fishing. Read More

'Bama bound!
Well, we were home just long enough to unpack, do the laundry then repack. Now it's time to hit the road again. Preparation this time is a little bit more in-depth. Read More

Alton's Angle: Practice makes perfect!
It felt fantastic to start the season off with a Top 10 finish on the Harris Chain. This is in stark contrast with last season when I went through the whole campaign without making a single final-day cut Read More

Alton's Angle: Preparation is paramount
One of the mantras that I live by is that preparation is more important than game day. Usually that means putting in your time on the water scouting before cutoffs and then buckling down during the actual practice days. Read More

Let it snow!
Like the title says, there has been quite a bit of snow here in central Texas. I never thought I'd use the phrases "snowed in" and "central Texas" in the same sentence. But I am because I was! Read More

Scouting in Florida
I've been down here in Florida for a couple of days prefishing on the Harris Chain with my buddy Tom Frederick. We're really having a wonderful time catching up and catching a few fish. Read More

Little A wins and Fayette County

Trout and Thanksgiving
Well, we're back from Colorado and I must say, while fishing in those cold streams was an absolute ball, I haven't decided to give up bass fishing. Read More

A day on Fayette County Lake
If you haven't heard what's been going on down at Falcon, it isn't good. Supposedly a husband and wife were down there visiting and the husband was shot and killed by some Mexican pirates.   Read More

Live from Falcon, for real
I'm down at the lake house right now preparing to host my Dallas Theological Seminary hospitality event. What we're doing over the weekend is hosting some of the best donors the seminary has.  Read More

Dogs, doves and a bad pun
The opening of dove season was a blast (excuse the pun)! We ended up hunting in a different place than expected, though.  Read More

Falcon giants!
Well, our most recent trip to Lake Falcon was a blast. I went with a buddy, Bryan Baker. The water is still way up, so like the last trip, this was all about the bushes and wood. We tried the ledges and dropoffs to no avail. There were several hot, slick days, but one day with 30-mile-per-hour winds.  Read More

Only a few days to go!
I'm looking forward to Falcon so much I can't see straight. We're leaving Sunday and probably staying through Wednesday, so by the next blog I'll have a fishing report for everybody.  Read More
